Florida Medical Marijuana
It's a good thing our politicians are working on a framework now. The Medical Marijuana bill they are hashing out, for about 15,000 patients, is giving them the opportunity to dial in regulations. If you look at Massachusetts who's regulators ended up being rushed by their constitutional amendment, it's a mild disaster.
Common ground between Democrats & Republicans happens so rarely, I can't think of the last time it happened. What is going on in Tallahassee is nothing short of astounding. There is wide spread support for a bill legalizing a certain strain of marijuana, high in CBD known as "Charlotte's Web". Marijuana plants that are high in CBD and low in THC are non psychoactive. Children with Dravet Syndrome have shown amazing results using this strain of marijuana to reduce the number of seizures they have. Parents who's children have Dravet, have been testifying before state legislators. This has caused politicians from both parties to do research on medical marijuana. Looks to me like this bill is a slam dunk to pass shortly. It's refreshing to see Republicans and Democrats agreeing on something that will help thousands of Floridians.
